Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
